Pro bono service is at the heart of the legal profession. Fredrikson has a long, strong history of providing pro bono legal services to individuals and organizations that serve them. We are proud of the work of our lawyers and the nonprofit organizations that provide or facilitate legal services in an effort to expand access to justice for everyone.
If you ask lawyers why they went to law school, most of them will reply that they wanted to help people or wanted to make the world a better place for future generations. Many lawyers act on those early motivations by doing pro bono work helping individuals, families, organizations, nonprofits and other community organizations achieve their goals.
Our lawyers, along with many of our paralegals, interns and staff, help to ensure that individual freedoms and rights are protected, that people who are unfamiliar with the court system have assistance navigating this foreign world and, most importantly, that voices are heard where they otherwise would not be.
Fredrikson's 2025 Pro Bono Annual Report
Fredrikson attorneys and staff dedicate thousands of hours in pro bono service to individuals and nonprofit organizations across our communities. These efforts are more than legal work—they are acts of compassion and advocacy that ripple outward, inspiring others to contribute and creating meaningful change one case at a time. Each year, we publish a book that honors our clients and celebrates the impact of our work.
This year’s edition, Stronger Together, Collaboration at the Core of Justice, highlights how we worked together as a community to stand beside survivors of domestic violence, helped immigrants navigate complex legal systems, and supported families seeking safety and stability. We advised nonprofits and new entrepreneurs, advocated for tenants facing unsafe housing conditions, and helped individuals clear criminal records to open doors to employment and housing. We also stepped into courtrooms to represent those who otherwise would have faced civil litigation alone. These stories reflect our shared commitment to justice, dignity, and hope. We invite you to read them.
