Overview
Fredrikson & Byron’s Madison office provides depth and experience in energy, land use, real estate, environmental, cooperatives, administrative law and litigation.
Attorneys in the Madison office represent clients in the energy industry, including electric utilities and cooperatives, renewable energy developers, natural gas, and other participants in the energy and telecommunications sectors. Our clients rely on our substantial experience in land use, permitting and regulatory approvals, commercial transactions, as well as resolving disputes and litigation. Additionally, we assist individuals, associations, businesses and local governments in matters relating to real estate, zoning and land use, property rights disputes, adverse possession, and navigable waters law. Attorneys try cases before the Supreme Court of Wisconsin, the Minnesota Supreme Court, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, federal courts, trial courts, and administrative agencies throughout Wisconsin. Local attorneys are frequent publishers and presenters in legal and industry forums.
The Madison team members bring a history of leadership in our communities and the legal profession. Our leadership roles include serving as board members for State Bar of Wisconsin legal sections, including the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section, the Public Utilities Section, and on the Wisconsin Remote Notary Council. Team members include a former Assistant General Counsel of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin and a former assistant district attorney.
We bring “where law and business meet” to the region by focusing on vital business and industry connections and the legal expertise that our clients need. Clients benefit from access to the deep resources of a large, regional law firm, with the personal, responsive nature of a local team.
