With extensive experience representing ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) companies, Jon helps businesses implement and manage ESOP structures that provide significant tax benefits while supporting employee ownership and long-term sustainability. Additionally, he works closely with high-net-worth families and business owners, guiding them through sophisticated estate and succession planning strategies that protect their wealth, minimize taxes and ensure a smooth transition of assets across generations.

Jon has a strong track record in forming and advising nonprofit organizations and foundations, as well as high profile public-private projects and sports organizations, helping them navigate complex regulatory and tax issues while achieving their missions.

Before joining Fredrikson, Jon was with a leading Iowa law firm, where he served as the chair of the business law and tax law practice groups. He also gained invaluable experience as a law clerk to the Honorable David Gustafson at the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C., where he worked for two years.
