Overview

Coding and billing force a series of constant decisions. Can you bill a chart missing a signature? If you decide the diagnosis code was wrong, must you refund? Can a payor tell you to use a particular code even if the service seems to fit a different code? Can you rely on an insurer’s payment of a claim as proof that your coding was correct?

Our May 11, 2022, Health Law Webinar presented a basic overview of the regulatory framework for governmental and private payors. It began with a basic introduction of the issues and concluded with some of the more common questions we get.

Continuing Education

We have applied for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for this program in Iowa and Minnesota. Please contact Greta Larson at glarson@fredlaw.com if you are an attorney licensed in another state and would like information about obtaining CLE accreditation.

We have also applied for Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) credits through the Compliance Certification Board (CCB)® and our application is currently pending their review for approval.

Live webcast participants will receive an email upon program approval for CLE and HCCA credits.
