Overview
We discussed the current government enforcement focus and compliance updates, review obligations for security risk assessments, talk HIPAA audits and discuss the recent “clarifications” and waivers from the Office for Civil Rights. We’ll also spend time on issues that come up regularly for Privacy Officers, including access to records (and fees that can be charged), employee training and breaches.
Accreditation
We have applied for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for this program in Iowa and Minnesota. Please contact Greta Larson at glarson@fredlaw.com if you are an attorney licensed in another state and would like information about obtaining CLE accreditation. We have also applied for Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) credits. Webinar participants will be notified of accreditation upon program approval of CLE and HCCA credits (typically three or four weeks following the webinar).
