Fredrikson’s government relations group gained bipartisan support from the Minnesota legislators in helping the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys secure significant additional funding to expand its innovative community engagement programs.
Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys was looking for additional funding to expand its innovative community engagement programs. Through two distinct programs, Girl Scouts brings free, high-quality leadership programming (including college and career readiness and culturally responsive social emotional learning) to 3,000 underserved and under resourced girls in the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota. With the goal of broadening this program throughout Minnesota, the Fredrikson & Byron government relations team explored a variety of avenues and financing options. Relentless and creative, the government relations group gained bipartisan support from legislators and the Walz/Flanagan Administration, leading to the allocation of $1 million in federal COVID-relief funds to help strengthen this program’s positive impact on Minnesota girls.
