Thomas Wheeler

Thomas effectively litigates on behalf of his clients in all types of litigation matters.

Thomas is proactive and creative. He provides legal representation in a wide range of business matters, including breach of contract disputes, partnership disputes, employment disputes, malpractice litigation, software litigation, product liability defense, federal agency litigation, and health care litigation.

Prior to joining Fredrikson, Thomas completed two judicial clerkships, one with former Chief Justice Lorie S. Gildea of the Minnesota Supreme Court and one with Judge Susan Richard Nelson of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. Thomas draws on his clerkships experiences to give sound counsel to, and achieve excellent results for, his clients.

During law school, he externed for U.S. District Judge Paul A. Magnuson and the United States Attorney’s Office. He graduated from the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where he received the Living the Mission award.

Thomas uses these experiences to advocate for his clients and make complex litigation issues easy to understand for judges and juries.

Thomas routinely drafts, argues, and wins motions at every stage of litigation. Thomas has persuasively argued motions for default judgment, motions to amend, motions to stay, motions to dismiss, and motions in limine. Thomas’s research and hard work helped end two cases at summary judgment, one for a health care client facing millions in exposure and one to enforce a client’s employment agreement.

Thomas has appellate experience, representing clients before the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Thomas uses his experience clerking for the Minnesota Supreme Court to scrutinize legal arguments and effectively tell his client’s story.
