Fredrikson attorneys Bret A. Dublinske, Bridget R. Penick, Emily S. Pontius, Kristy Dahl Rogers, Brandon R. Underwood and J. Marc Ward have been appointed to positions within the Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) for the 2021-2022 fiscal year, which began July 1, 2021. Representing approximately 7,000 attorneys across all practice areas in Iowa’s 99 counties and beyond, the ISBA facilitates professional growth and collegiality among Iowa attorneys, with a mission to help them succeed.
Dublinske will continue his role on the Government Practice Section Council, where he had co-chaired the annual CLE for several years. His practice focuses on administrative, land use, litigation and appeals as well as policy issues for energy and communication clients throughout the U.S. He will also continue his role as a long-time member on the Federal Practice Committee.
Penick was appointed to the ISBA Board of Governors and will continue to serve on the Annual Meeting Committee, a role she has held since 2011. In her practice, she represents employers of all sizes, both in state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies.
Pontius was appointed to the newly-formed Centralized Diversity Task Force. She is an advisor, investigator and litigator for business and higher education clients, with experience litigating sex discrimination, age discrimination, race discrimination, FMLA and ADA cases. Pontius is a past chair of the Labor and Employment Section of the ISBA.
Rogers was appointed to the Public Relations Committee. As a senior associate in Fredrikson & Byron’s Litigation and Appellate Groups, she assists clients in trial and appellate litigation before state and federal courts and in regulatory matters before administrative agencies.
Underwood will serve a fifth year in the Construction Law Section Council. He is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer, serving owners, developers, and contractors on public and private construction projects to resolve disputes in mediation, arbitration and litigation.
Ward was re-appointed to his role as member of the Business Law Section Council. He has extensive experience working on banking, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.
