Fredrikson welcomes attorney John A. Petravich to its Patents and Intellectual Property groups.
Petravich advises a variety of clients, from small tech companies and universities to Fortune 500 companies. He has over 20 years of experience prosecuting patents, freedom-to-operate and patentability opinions. Petravich has negotiated and drafted numerous license agreements as well as a broad range of corporate transactions. He has also worked in M&A, managing IP and legal issues.
Prior to joining Fredrikson, Petravich was a vice president of intellectual property for a biotech company that, during his tenure, evolved from a 200-employee business to a company of over 1,500 people. His in-house counsel experience provided a deep understanding of the business side of IP.
