Fredrikson attorney Megan Bowman has earned the certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) credential through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). The AIGP credential demonstrates Bowman has the competency to build, use and manage AI to prevent unnecessary risk or harm to their organization, its customers or the public.

Bowman provides clients smart and business-centered advice on privacy law compliance, and data licensing and security matters. Bowman prides herself on providing clients smart and business-centered advice regarding privacy law compliance, data use and ownership, and cybersecurity issues. As a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Bowman routinely counsels businesses engaged in the building, development, marketing and procurement of technology products or services that involve the processing of regulated data, including personal information or protected health information. She then marries this expertise with her experience negotiating complex commercial intellectual property agreements to help clients at the intersection of technology and data maximize their assets and product lines. Bowman has experience working with companies in the energy, education, managed services, healthcare, life sciences, gig-economy and retail industries.

The AIGP certification was developed and launched by the IAPP in tandem with the IAPP AI Governance Center. AI governance professionals are tasked with the critical responsibility of evaluating AI, integrating relevant standards and best practices, and developing and implementing strategies for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. With the global expansion of AI technology, there is a rapid, cross-industry need for these professionals to understand and execute AI governance in a safe and responsible manner.

The IAPP is the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy and AI governance community and resource. Founded in 2000, the IAPP is a not-for-profit organization that helps define, support and improve the privacy profession globally. More information about the IAPP is available at www.iapp.org.
