A group of female lawyers in the Twin Cities, including Fredrikson & Byron shareholder, Dulce Foster, have joined forces to form the first local chapter of the internationally known Women's White Collar Defense Association (WWCDA). Foster’s collaborators in this endeavor include Marnie Fearon of Gray Plant Mooty, Gretchen Gurstelle of Ballard Spahr and Kristin Zinsmaster of Jones Day.
Dulce says, “White collar criminal defense has been, and continues to be, heavily dominated by men - both globally and here in Minnesota. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to establish a local chapter of this organization, which promotes diversity, facilitates networking, and provides a platform for educational programming. The WWCDA is all about advancing women professionally, creating an environment in which women in this field support each other and generally getting together and having a good time.”
The WWCDA's mission is to promote the common business and professional interests of women attorneys who specialize in the representation of corporations, other organizations and individuals facing government enforcement actions.
The Minnesota chapter of the WWCDA launches with a luncheon meeting today, Monday, January 14, 2019, at Fredrikson & Byron’s law office. Future meetings and activities are planned to take place several times throughout the year. For more information about the WWCDA, visit wwcda.org. The Women's White Collar Defense Association is a coalition of women attorneys and other professionals with relevant expertise who specialize in white collar criminal defense. WWCDA has over 1,400 members nationwide and internationally.
