The Iowa State Bar Association (ISBA) appointed Fredrikson attorney Philip S. Bubb to serve as chair of the Construction Law Section Council for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. Bubb is an experienced commercial litigator, serving clients in diverse industries, including construction and real estate.
Continuing to serve as a member of the Iowa State Bar Association Annual Meeting Committee and the Labor and Employment Section Council, attorney Bridget R. Penick now also serves on the ISBA Board of Governors as a representative of District 5C. Penick is a leading litigator whose practice focuses on employment law. She represents employers of all sizes, both in state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies.
Attorney Emily S. Pontius serves as chair of the Iowa State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section, a position she was appointed to in 2016. Pontius is an experienced litigator for employers. She also advises employers concerning compliance with state and federal employment laws, provides training to employees and management, and investigates internal complaints of harassment and discrimination.
Attorney J. Marc Ward will continue in his role as a council member of the Iowa State Bar Association’s Business Law Section. Ward has extensive experience working on banking, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters. He chaired the committee that wrote the original LLC law in 1992 and chaired the committee that wrote the new Iowa LLC law in 2009.
