Concordia College has named Fredrikson & Byron shareholder Karen L. Grandstrand as one of its 2020 Alumni Achievement Award (AAA) honorees. As the college's highest honor, the AAA is conferred upon alumni who have distinguished themselves in their careers and service to others.
Grandstrand graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia College in 1977 and went on to receive her J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 1982. She now chairs the firm’s Bank & Finance Group.
Grandstrand is a nationally recognized bank regulatory and M&A attorney, and a financial industry advisor. Prior to joining Fredrikson, she had a 14-year career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis where she was initially in the Law Department and ultimately the Senior Vice President of the Banking Supervision and Risk Management Departments.
Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college located in Moorhead, Minnesota. The college’s AAA is reserved for alumni at the pinnacle of their vocational life. Chosen by the National Alumni Board, the award is given to alumni who have exemplified the ideals of Concordia College through outstanding service and leadership in their profession, community and church.
