Fredrikson is pleased to announce that attorney Jacob D. Levine has been chosen by the Twin Cities Cardozo Society to receive the 2025 Arthur T. Pfefer Memorial Award. Each year, the award is presented to a Jewish law student or attorney under the age of 35 who has demonstrated outstanding leadership potential and commitment to serving the community. This award honors the memory of Arthur T. Pfefer an aspiring St. Paul lawyer who was killed while serving the United States in the Vietnam War. Levine will be honored at the 24th Annual Cardozo Society Dinner on May 13.

Levine is a senior associate at Fredrikson, where he specializes in mergers and acquisitions. He represents clients ranging from public companies, private equity firms, and mom-and-pop shops in a wide range of business transactions, while also dedicating his practice to pro bono legal support for nonprofit organizations, immigrants seeking asylum, and underrepresented small business owners. Levine takes pride in blending his strategic legal lens with clients’ core business objectives in order to provide practical, business centric, legal advice. To Levine, the foundation of any great legal representation is taking the time to listen and take to heart the objectives that bring clients to him in the first place.

Levine’s leadership and philanthropy expands beyond his professional practice as well. Levine is a co-chair of Fredrikson's Tzedakah Fund, mobilizing philanthropy for Jewish organizations across the Twin Cities, and a chapter advisor for the University of Minnesota's AEPi Jewish fraternity. He is a proud board member at multiple local organizations, including Minnesota Hillel, the Jewish Historical Society of the Upper Midwest, and the Hennepin County Bar Association's New Lawyers Section. Levine is passionate about supporting new leaders inside and outside of the Jewish community, and his contributions to the Cardozo Society Steering Committee has been a meaningful source of learning and connection for this work.

The Twin Cities Cardozo Society is an affinity group of the Minneapolis Jewish Federation and the St. Paul Jewish Federation, who bring the Jewish legal community together to advance their philanthropic missions in the community and ensure the security and vitality of the Jewish people of the Twin Cities.
