Overview
On February 1, 2017, Fredrikson hosted leading regulatory, industry experts and cybersecurity attorneys for a discussion on how to moderate cybersecurity risk for the financial industry. Fredrikson’s Sten-Erik Hoidal moderated a panel featuring Ann Ladd, along with technology and insurance industry experts, which provided practical steps to reduce the risk of breaches and how to respond if they happen. Sandy Smalley-Fleming of Fredrikson moderated a panel which dissected the legal and regulatory risks of a breach, featuring Fredrikson’s Terrence Fleming and representatives of SIFMA and the SEC.
Managing and containing cybersecurity risk will continue to be important to investment managers and their clients. A recent survey indicates that 93 percent of phishing emails contain ransomware.
