On May 1, attorneys from Fredrikson & Byron’s International practice and UK law firm Walker Morris provided a general update on the Brexit process and a discussion of the practical issues companies should identify and put into place and an overview of the potential business opportunities presented by this transition. The program addressed:
- Brexit process, possible outcomes and consequential changes to the regulatory environment across the UK and EU
- What possible Brexit outcomes may mean for companies doing business with the UK and for business between the UK and the remaining EU states
- Supply chain issues and how the customs, import and export process may be affected
- Recommendations for dealing with data, intellectual property protection and employee immigration
- Issues affecting regulated sectors, such as food and agricultural, financial services and medical/technology
