TAX RELIEF red Rubber Stamp over a white background.

With the COVID-19 pandemic continuing to impact businesses within the healthcare industry, the Minnesota Department of Revenue on May 14, 2020, again offered relief to businesses with upcoming MinnesotaCare tax payment obligations. The Department previously announced relief measures on March 20, 2020 and April 10, 2020, which were summarized in our earlier updates, “MinnesotaCare Tax Relief for Businesses Impacted by COVID-19,” and “Additional MinnesotaCare Tax Relief for Businesses Impacted by COVID-19.”

The latest relief measure extends the deadline for estimated payments which were due on May 15, 2020 by 30 days, to June 15, 2020, and abates penalty and interest so long as payments are made by June 15, 2020. The grace period is automatically effective; taxpayers do not need to request this relief.

Our team continues to actively track tax impacts created by this challenging time. Please feel free to contact us to discuss this further.
