Alex is an experienced energy attorney with an emphasis on real estate, tax and business issues.

Alex is a detail-oriented attorney who finds practical solutions for clients. He represents clients in the acquisition, development, financing and sale of renewable energy projects. Alex advises companies, individuals and nonprofits in real estate and business transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, title and survey review, tax planning, entity formation, corporate governance, applying for and maintaining 501(c)(3) status, and mergers and acquisitions.

Energy

  • Serves as real estate counsel for the development, financing, and sale of utility-scale wind and solar energy projects.
  • Advised renewable energy client—and negotiated with the state department of revenue—regarding novel application of sales tax exemption to multimillion-dollar purchases of equipment to convert methane gas emissions into biofuels.
  • Represented public utility in various matters involving real estate and technology procurement.
  • Assisted with corporate and real estate matters in connection with the $500 million sale of a portfolio of 30+ multifamily housing properties.
  • Negotiated contract for the establishment and procurement of district heating and cooling services to a newly constructed commercial building.
  • Facilitated merger of nonprofit entities, including to advise client on business continuity and governance matters throughout the combination process.
